This conference, organized by the African Child and Youth Migration Network (ACYMN), focused on African Child and Youth Migration and the Sustainable Development Goals from a global perspective. It convened scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to examine child and youth migration dynamics across Africa and globally. The conference fostered dialogue on the implications of migration for child and youth well-being and development, strengthened international research collaborations, supported mentoring of students and early-career researchers, and engaged diverse stakeholders in evidence-informed discussions on migration and the SDGs.
The event brings together around 50 individuals from Black graduate student groups and early career researchers across Canada to attend the Summer Institute. Training is provided on diverse topics including, grant writing, writing for publication, research methodologies, data analysis, research ethics, knowledge mobilization, research leadership, presentation skills, equity/diversity/inclusion, and substantive topics related to Black well-being in Canada.
